On January 20^th 2017, Professor ZHANG Suojiang, Director General of Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Science (IPE, CAS), and Manfred Aben, Vice President Research and Development and Site Leader Shanghai R&D Centre of Unilever, formally signed an agreement of “ Unilever Ph.D. Student Award at IPE”.

IPE and Unilever have cooperated in dozens of projects from 2006, and signed an agreement of strategic partnership in 2014. According to this Ph.D. student award agreement, 3 outstanding Ph.D. students will be rewarded 10,000 RMB respectively every year. The aim of this award is to develop and promote virtual process engineering, green chemistry, biochemical engineering, energy reduction, and zero waste by supporting outstanding research students in their development at IPE.

This agreement would be conducive to establish an innovating mechanism for talent training and enhance mutual trust between IPE and Unilever.
