February 23, 2010, Tokyo—Dr Jiayu Xin, assistant researcher of IPE Ion Liquid and Clean Energy Project, was honored with an award in 84th General Meeting of the Japan Institute of Energy (JIE) for his systematic research results in Production of Biodiesel with Supercritical Fluid Method and fluid fuel. The Japan Institute of Energy Award for Encouragement was presented annually to no more than 7 young scientists under 35 for their remarkable achievements in energy science.
Dr Jiayu Xin, got his Ph. D. in Energy Science in Kyoto University in 2009 after 3-year study under the scholarship offered by MEXT, Japan. In the same year, Dr Xin joined IPE Ion Liquid and Clean Energy Project. As a key member, Dr Xin participated in “Development of Preparatory Basic Bioenergy Technologies” and “High Efficiency Bioenergy Conversion Projects”, sponsored by NEDO and “Establishment of COE on Sustainable Energy system” and “Toward CO2 Zero-emission Energy System” Projects sponsored by MEXT, Japan.
