Over the past 51 years, the IPE has not only produced a certain number of high learned senior scientists, renowned and influential in both China and overseas, but also turned out many middle-aged and young scientists with accomplishments, promising in their own fields and emerging as the leaders and backbones in different disciplines. There are 758 staffs in IPE including 34 professors and 5 academicians by the end of 2008.
Education has always been paid more attention in the IPE, which has had graduated programs since 1958. At present, it is accredited to award PhD and M.S degrees in Chemical Engineering and Technology,environmental engineering,material science。The institute has 49 PhD supervisors, and also 203 PhD students, 153 master graduate students and 15 post-doctoral fellows. There have been hemical engineering post-doctor stations since the post-doctor station was set up in 1986.
GUCAS, through its various departments and research institutes of the CAS across the country, offers the following programs to foreign students in a wide range of specialties and research fields: Master Program, PhD. Program, Program for Regular Visiting Students, and Program for Senior Visiting Students.
