The School of Chemical Engineering is affiliated to the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). It is undertaken by Institute of Process Engineering as the leading institute, in conjunction with Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Institute of Coal Chemistry, Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes, Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry and Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry. 

The school is responsible for the education and research work of the first-level discipline of Chemical Engineering and Technology, including 7 departments which are:
