Resume

Dr. XIE Yongbing is a full professor at the Institute of Process Engineering (IPE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Technology from Tianjin University in 2004 and 2009, respectively. After two years as a postdoctoral fellow in IPE, he has been working in the institute as an assistant professor, associate professor and professor. He was a visiting scholar at Yale University from August 2018 to August 2019. He is mainly engaged in industrial wastewater treatment, carbon adsorbent synthesis and regeneration, and waste industrial salt purification. He co-edited three books, published more than 110 peer-reviewed papers and was authorized 21 patents, and serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Environmental Engineering (American Society of Civil Engineers). He won the Young Scientist Award from Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, Young Scientist Award from Chinese Society of Particuology, second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, and second prize of the Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award. The catalytic ozonation technology he developed has been applied in dozens of industrial projects in coal chemical industry, iron and steel industry and waste lithium ion battery recycling industry.
