Resume

Wei Wei is currently a full professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Process Engineering (IPE), and the director of key laboratory of biopharmaceutical preparation and delivery, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). In 2004, he graduated from Peking University Health Science Center, and was recommended to IPE for master's and doctor's degree. After graduation in 2011, he continued to work in IPE and received exceptional promotions to associate professor and full professor, successively. His research field mainly focuses on the biomimetic formulation engineering, including the development of new preparation process and the novel design of biomimetic carriers based on natural objects such as protein, bacteria and cells. Upon utilizing the inherent transportation ways, accurate drug delivery can be achieved for the aim of vaccination, anticancer therapy, and tissue repair.

At present, he has published 151 SCI papers, with 9,336 citations by others. Among them, in the past ten years, as the corresponding author, 85 SCI papers have been published in prestigious journals such as NatureNature NanotechnologyNature Biomedical EngineeringScience Translational Medicine, and Cell Host & Microbe, including 20 papers in the main editions and sub-editions of CNS (Cell, Nature, and Science). Four international invention patents and seven Chinese invention patents have been authorized. Three formulations have passed ethical approval and initiated Investigator-Initiated Trials (IIT) research. Awards include the SCEJ Award for Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer, the First Prize of Natural Science of the Chinese Society of Particles, and the Innovation Breakthrough Award in Life Medicine of Zhongyuan Union Cell & Gene Engineering Corporation, etc. The individual has presided over projects such as the Outstanding Young Scientist Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key R & D Program, Strategic Priority Research Program Class C of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Youth Team Program for Stable Support in Basic Research Fields of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. The individual also serves as a member of the Biochemical Engineering Committee of the Chinese Institute of Chemical Engineers, a member of the Professional Committee of Vaccine Basic Research of the China Vaccine Industry Association, etc.
