She was elected Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021. Her research interests focus on manufacture of uniform bio-particles (microspheres and microcapsules) and their applications in biochemical and biomedical engineering, such as protein/vaccine separation media, drug  delivery systems, vaccine adjuvants (vaccine delivery systems), microcarriers for cell culture, and enzyme immobilization carriers.
