  • Project of National High Technology Research and Development Program Successfully Passed Final Acceptance

Project of National High Technology Research and Development Program  "Integration Technology and Equipment of Semi-dry Flue Gas Desulfurization of Sintering Machine" undertaken by Prof. Zhu Tingyu of Institute of Process Engineering(IPE), successfully passed its final acceptance, organized by Department of Social Development , Ministry of Science and Technology in Hangzhou on Mar. 31 2011.

The emission of sulfur dioxide (SO2) produced by the sinter machine takes up more than 70% of the total SO2 emission of the iron and steel industry in China. So it is necessary to take effective measures to strengthen the control of sintering gas desulphurization. The research, supported by Project of National High Technology Research and Development Program, developed the inner and outer circulating fluidized bed (IOCFB) applied in sintering gas desulphurization. The technology has been widely used in industrial sintering machine and boiler flue gas desulfurization project, which brings good environmental and economic benefits to companies. The assessment committee evaluated that some innovative technologies including the composite internals, high efficiency external cyclone separator, and design software were obtainedin the project.

The technology was honored with 11th China Patent Award, Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award and the Beijing Science and Technology Award.
