July 21, 2010, IPE, Beijing—Vice President Guoying Xiang, CAS Beijing Branch announced that Professor Suojiang Zhang was appointed as director of IPE.

　　In June 2010, Deputy General Secretary Xin Fang, CPC CAS Committee led a midterm evaluation of IPE management. At same time, the candidates to directorship were elected. After voting, approval of CPC CAS committee, Professor Zhang was appointed to the post of director of IPE.
