Professor Raffaella Ocone of Heriot-Watt University recently visited the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and was awarded the CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) Distinguished Scientist certificate. The certificate was presented by Li Jinghai.

CEGT

CAS-TWAS Center of Excellence for Green Technology

Affiliated with the Institute of Process Engineering (IPE), Chinese Academy of Sciences was formally founded in 2013. The Centre was established based on the solid foundation and rich experience of IPE in the field of green technology with scientific research and engineering developments. CEGT is dedicated to promoting the development and implementation of green technologies into new products and processes with a focus on coal, mineral, petroleum and gas, biomass and solid waste, to establish a training base and a platform for academic communication among developing countries.

IPM

International Panel of Mesoscience (IPM)

Initiated in 2018, the International Panel of Mesoscience aims to promote and assess the science and technology related to mesoscales in nature and engineering. It also organizes the activities, conferences, and seminars to discuss the recent development of Mesoscience in different areas. The IPM involves experts from all over the world who contribute to the work of IPM and volunteer their time and efforts to promote the research of Mesoscience and its roles in science and engineering.

IPE has been long dedicated to international collaboration and academic exchange. It is well connected with the world and has developed short- or long-term partnership with many world well-known institutions /universities or enterprises of 30+ countries/regions. Many IPE scientists hold important positions in international organizations, and a number of international conferences has been hosted.

AWARDS

There are many distinguished foreign scientists that collaborated very closely with IPE researchers and made remarkable contribution and important achievements. In order to honor those eminent foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to facilitating cooperation with IPE in science and technology, in an attempt to encourage more efforts in this respect that will strengthen our science and technology innovation capacity, Awards for International Scientific Cooperation were granted to them, by CAS, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs or the Ministry of Science and Technology.

CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI)

The CAS President’s International Fellowship Initiative, PIFI, is a specific funding program to attract talented foreigners to Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) for scientific exchanges and research cooperation. It is open to scientific research personnel from around the globe, of seven types. The Institute of Process Engineering, CAS welcomes scientists who want to visit or work short- or long-term.
