This project has led to formation of a new straw refining technology in full utilization of straw biomass. It established a new set of refinery methods of straw at different levels such as organ, tissue and cell, etc.; clear revealing of interaction mechanism in straw fractionizing process; a straw eco-industrial park and realization of multi-production of cellulose, xylo-oligosaccharides, corrugated medium, bio-organic fertilizer, etc. Up to 2008, a 20000 m3/a straw-ecological plant, fertilizer demonstration project and 3000 t/a demonstration project of solid state fermentation of fuel alcohol from straw have been set up.
