The project “A flue gas desulfurization technology of the inner and outer circulating fluidized bed”, undertaken by prof. Zhu Tingyu and his group, Institute of Process Engineering (IPE), was honored with award for Environmental Protection Science and Technology on Dec 27, 2010.
Conventional circulating fluidized bed desulfurization technology had various disadvantages, such as poor adaptability of the boiler load and coal variety. To overcome these problems, this project focused on developing an inner and outer circulating fluidized bed desulfurization technology, including the composite internals, high efficiency external cyclone separator, and distributed control system. The technology has been widely used in industrial boiler/furnace flue gas desulfurization project, which brings environmental and economic benefits for companies.
