Scientists to Gather at World Resource Forum

More than 150 scientists from 12 countries gathered at World Resource Forum on Oct 21 to 23 in Beijing to discuss global resources issues. Specific topics including resource policy implementation, green economy, resource efficiency strategies, urban mining, challenges and opportunities were presented.

During the forum, more than 250 abstracts from 50 countries, 15 plenary lectures are representatives from famous and highly respected institutions all over the world. More than 10 workshops on specific topics were organized. Scientists gave presentations in three parallel sessions on research into green and circular economy, renewable energy, policy and education, waste/material recovery and recycling, food and biomass, clean coal technology.

Main theme of WRF 2012 is Resources and Green Economy. It aims to provide a science –based platform to exchange knowledge about the economic, political and environmental implication of global resources by building bridges among researchers, policymakers, business and the public.

The World Resources Forum (WRF) is the global science-based platform for sharing knowledge about the economic, political, social and environmental implications of global resource use. WRF promotes innovation for resource productivity by building bridges among researchers, policymakers, business, SMEs, NGOs and the public. Flagship activity is the annual WRF Conference. The WRF 2012 is the first WRF conference held outside Switzerland event.
